Highlighting Agrochemical Toxicity by Means of an MEA PlatformATS proposed a multi-parametric analysis of MEA data for agrochemical toxicology profiling. The overall results obtained on eleven active substances, contained in most commonly used agrochemicals, demonstrated that the multi-parametric description of neuronal network activity makes an MEA-based screening platform an accurate and consistent tool; adoptable as part of a preliminary, integrated, in vitro evidence-based testing strategy before in vivo tests on animals. It could also provide information that meets specific regulatory requirements governing agrochemicals whilst minimising the cost, time and number of animals used.
